FROM CHITTENDEN COUNTY RPC PRESS RELEASE

 Burlington
Paving activities on East Avenue from Main Street to Colchester Avenue will result in one lane travel during daytime hours.  Traffic delays are expected, and motorists are advised to seek alternate routes. 
 
There will be street paving activitieson Riversedge, Borestone, Valade, Hildred, and Manhattan Drive through the end of June.
 
Charlotte
Work on the Route 7 paving project from the Ferrisburgh/Charlotte town line north to the Ferry Road intersection will cause occasional alternating one way traffic with traffic control present, and temporary two-way traffic detours.   Motorists should expect delays.  Find specific daily updates at www.roadworkupdates.com.
 
Colchester
Construction activity at the Route 7/2, 2A & 127 Intersection Project will have one-way alternating traffic between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m.  Flaggers will assist motorists traveling through the work zone.  Motorists should expect delays.  For more project information and updates, contacthttp://www.i89colchester.vtransprojects.vermont.gov/route7-2.html 
 
Essex Junction
Motorists should be aware of workers on Park, Lincoln and Route 15 between 8:30 am and 10 pm during the week, involving little or no impact on traffic.  For project information and updates, visit  http://countonitinc.com/vt-route-2a-park-street-essex/  
 
Road construction on Pearl Street from the Five Corners west to just past the Post Office Square will cause traffic delays through October 27.  Work will be done Monday through Friday between 7 am and 5:30 pm with occasional night work until 10 pm.  Two-way traffic will be maintained at all times with traffic control present.
 
Huntington
Work to replace the #8 bridge on the Main Road in Huntington just south of Moody Road in Hanksville will result in one lane travel beginning on Thursday, June 15.  The bridge will be completely closed from June 29 through August 18 and traffic will be detoured. 
 
Interstate 89 between Exits 17 and 18 - Milton Lamoille River Bridges Project
Work on the Interstate 89 bridges over the Lamoille River in Milton will cause daily northbound and southbound lane closures from 6am until 4pm, and 24-hour southbound lane closures as needed for paving Monday through Saturday.  Motorists should plan for delays especially during the morning and afternoon commutes, reduce speed and use extreme caution while driving through the construction zone.  This project should be completed in the fall.  For project information and updates, visithttp://www.i89lamoilleriverbridges.com/.
 
Interstate 89 between Exits 12 and 13 - Northbound
Work to divert northbound traffic to the two-lane temporary roadway constructed to allow for construction of two culverts between Exits 12 and 13 will occur this week during the day and night until the lane shift is totally completed.  The speed limit has been reduced to 55 per hour and this project will be completed by the end of the 2017 season.  For project information and updates, visithttp://www.i89sbgculverts.vtransprojects.vermont.gov/
 
Interstate 89 between Exits 16 and 21
Work on repaving Interstate 89 between Exit 16 in Colchester and Exit 21 in Swanton occurs on Saturday and continues throughout the week in the northbound lanes between Exit 18 north to the end of the project.  There will also be work on the northbound on/off ramps at Exits 18 and 19 and crack filling in the southbound lanes, weather permitting, during the week.  On Thursday and Friday, weather permitting, paving begins at the north end of the project in St. Albans/Swanton in the southbound lane proceeding south.    There will be minimal traffic delays, and traffic control will be present allowing for one lane of traffic.  This project will be completed bySeptember 29.  For project information and updates, visit http://countonitinc.com/category/i-89-colchester-swanton/.  
 
Interstate 89 between Exits 17 and 18 
Work to replace two culverts between Exits 17 and 18 in Georgia this week will cause potential one lane travel at times, but there will be no lane closures during peak travel hours.   The speed limit has been reduced to 55 in these areas.  The projected will be completed by the end of the 2017 season.  For project information and updates, visithttp://i89sbgculverts.vtransprojects.vermont.gov/about_georgia.html. 

Interstate 89 between Exits 12-17
Motorists should be aware of increased traffic enforcement as part of VTrans' Operation Safety Corridor program to reduce speeding, distracted, aggressive and impaired driving, and to increase seatbelt use. 
 
South Burlington
VT Route 116/Hinesburg Road at Potash Brook will be closed to thru traffic in mid to late June to be reopened by September 1 for culvert replacement.  There will be work this week on water lines, sign installation and on the sides of the road.  Traffic control will be present allowing for alternating one-lane travel.  For project information and updates, visit http://countonitinc.com/vt-116hinesburg-road-culvert-replacement/.  

During the week, roadwork on Sebring and Sandlewood Roads between 7 am and 5 pm will result in one lane travel.
 
Williston
Work on the Muddy Brook Bridge on Industrial Avenue is complete and the bridge is open.
 
Work on the US Route 2/VT Route 2A rehabilitation project will occurSunday through Friday evenings from 7 pm to 6 am on Route 2 between Taft Corners and the Blair Park Road/Harvest Lane intersection.  Motorists should expect delays.  Traffic control will be present allowing for one lane of alternating travel in the construction zone.  For project information and updates, visit http://countonitinc.com/so-burlington-williston-rts-22a/.

Countywide
Motorists should be alert for worker mowing, street sweeping and painting roadway stencils on the interstate and state roads.  Please slow down in work zones.
 
For motorists traveling Route 7 from Addison County:  Weather permitting, paving will occur on Saturday on the northbound Ferrisburgh railroad crossing to Lime Kiln Road.  During the week, there will be paving on abutting side roads and driveway tie ins, shoulder work and line striping within the project limit from Lime Kiln Road to the Ferrisburgh/Charlotte town line.  For more project information and updates, contact http://countonitinc.com/road-construction-scheduled/.
